I love purchasing new toys and dolls for my daughter, but I especially love purchasing new toys and dolls that have a purpose. Kahiniwall is the exact time of company that I love supporting. Kahiniwall was created by Austin and Marita Miller who both wanted to provide employment for the poor of Bangladesh. They decided to do so by distributing their high quality handmade products in North America. All products are made in Bangladesh by artisans who work to support their families and provide women with flexible working opportunities which are close to their homes. These products are made entirely by hand with natural materials which makes them even more special. My daughter is completely in love with her Storytime Ballerina. This doll is approximately 33 cm by 15cm, and is dressed in an adorable pink tutu. My daughter can’t go a night without it, as this has quickly become one of her favorite little dolls. She loves how soft the ballerina is, and I love knowing that we are helping parents across the world to support their families. This definitely won’t be the last thing I purchase from this amazing company!
Kahiniwalla: <ka•’hee•nee•’wal•uh> (Bangla) n. meaning a purveyor of stories, a storyteller, a traveling story teller; (North America) prop n. meaning a business which distributes Fair Trade product in North America which both are handmade and have a story.
