In the past I have tried to make fun cakes, but failed miserably. I also dread spending $40 on a nice pre-made cake. Copy Cake Kits are a fun new way to decorate cakes like an expert, minus all of the extras! Each Copy Cake Kit comes with one edible template, three bags of icing, an icing smoother tool, a picture guide, and easy-to-use instructions. PicMonkey Collage.png

I ordered a scarecrow cake kit with yellow, orange, and brown icing. Once I baked a cake and iced it with white regular white icing all I had to do  was peel the edible template from the plastic backing, stick it onto the cake, and frost over the template using the included icing.  It was extremely easy and I was able to throw everything straight in the garbage once I was done! I think this would have been a super fun project to do with the kids, so I plan on ordering a “Just For Fun” themed Copy Cake Kit in the near future. This scarecrow Copy Cake Kit cost $14.95 not including the $2 boxed cake mix and $2 white icing. In total, this cake would cost approximately $20 to make compared to the  $45 I was quoted by a local cake decorator. It is also cheaper than the pre-made holiday cakes at our local market. Such a great concept for a great price!
